VEDRUNA
SECOND GATHERING OF THE GENERAL TEAM AND THE PROVINCIAL / DELEGATION TEAMS
21/11/2019
“WALKING TOGETHER”

19th and 20th November 2019

At the end of the third day of the gathering, we look back at the last two days lived and believe that the word that can define them is: intense. Yes, they were really intense!

The second day was a day of information on the progress of the Congregation in the last one year, focused on how the Chapter Determinations and Agreements, as well as other important aspects of our life in mission that are promoted from the General Team. So, we dedicated the day sharing on Identity and Mission, gathering of Younger Generations, Formation, Communications, our presence in Refugee Camps, Administration, Secretariat, Charism, Spirituality Course, Visits to communities and walking with the Vedruna Laity... We all are very much impressed seeing the so much work done that is done in our Congregation, but also there is so much still to go!

On Wednesday, we have dedicated the entire day on the topic of Protection and Accompaniment in cases of abuse. We have been accompanied by reflection and deepening, our sister Cova Orejas and Ricardo Benjumea, a journalist. Both are members of the Bethany Association for the Accompaniment of Victims within the Church and are persons with great experience in this subject. We became aware of this reality, the need to be close to the victims, to have the necessary training in accompaniment that we need. We know that it is the institutional responsibility and commitment.

The Eucharist, the morning and evening prayers are helping us to live each day with depth and communion with our realities. On Tuesday, the province of Africa and on Wednesday, the delegation of the Philippines prepared the prayers, putting their own accent and enriching our way of praising, thanking God.

To all the Vedruna Family who accompany us from your communities and spaces, we thank you and ask you to continue to keep us present in your prayer. Thank you! Gracias! Merci! Arigato! Obrigada!
